Augustine Priory at Blythburgh
This Priory was founded in 1125, long before Henry IV granted to the Prior the right to build the present church, which is so well known. The ruins of the Priory were hidden in the dense overgrowth of a neighbouring garden, quietly crumbling away, until the owner enlisted the assistance of Historic England a a programme of investigation and repairs was put in hand, to record, consolidate and rough rack the ruins.
